Sunday November 21st saw the Toads putting on a 2x16 FUN shoot at another of our shooting grounds at Whiddon Down, Okehampton.
With plus scores and minus scores it was anyone’s chance to win ……..or lose.
Luck was on our side with the weather as it turned out to be dry but cold.
Everyone who came entered into the spirit of Fun. Thanks for all the wonderful compliments; it makes all the hard work worthwhile!
Well done to Shelia and Megan who again did not miss a beat in getting the admin done quickly and accurately in the failing light. And special thanks to Margaret, our ace cake maker who wrecked many pre Xmas diets
Prize giving was done in the dark and a number of guests suggested a night shoot for next year. Already penciled in !!!!!!!
Sorry to all those on the waiting list but we only had one cancellation, due to man flu, and no no-shows.
The day though was summed up by Rachel Vowden. When asked how her day went? Her answer was “I have never hit so many targets and scored so many minuses. But I haven’t had that much fun on a course for years!!!”
A Special award medal in a totally new class of TWSB (twit with silly bow) was scooped by Lee Phillips. Next year we hope to have many more archers appear in this now prestigious class
The following weekend the Toads shot the course followed by a Toady type BBQ all in the snow.
We would have published our own scores but we were having too much fun and they were mostly minuses anyway!
